Portfield Sponsor Emily

Emily raises £3,000 for Chestnut Tree House

Portfield donate the final £227 so Emily achieves her target of £3,000

Emily Carman, aged 8, started fundraising at the young age of five and has had a passion for raising money for others ever since.

Last Christmas Emily raised £2,200 for Chestnut Tree House children's Hospice, by playing her trumpet in the centre of Chichester, which was a great accomplishment .

Emily then decided to take on an 8 mile run to raise more money for the children and on 18th June 2016, Emily ran from her school in Chichester to her home in Yapton.

Emily said "I think I am lucky compared to the children who are in Chestnut Tree House. I want to help them. I love running and I went to the hospice to deliver some money from my earlier fundraising and they asked me what I would like to do next."

To raise money for her run, Emily took it upon herself to look for sponsors, by writing a letter and taking it into local businesses to ask for their support.

Emily is a true inspiration and we are delighted to sponsor her this month and in any future fundraising challenges she may take on.
