Building for the future

Portfield’s Brand-New Retail Centre

The Best Destination For Cars In Chichester

The drills have been silenced, the builders have stopped, and work on Portfield’s multi-franchised car retail centre on Quarry Lane in Chichester has now been completed following an extensive refurbishment programme that began in October last year.

As a result of a major investment within the business by Portfield, firmly established as the largest car dealership in Chichester, and one of the leading motoring names in West Sussex, our city now has a magnificent destination for all new and used car buyers. The exterior and interior of Portfield’s building has been thoroughly modernised. With four franchises, namely Citroen, DS, Peugeot and Mazda plus our Part Exchange Centre, Portfield has a great deal to offer all car and van buyers, whatever their preferred type of vehicle.

There’s a brand new Peugeot Concept showroom and the Citroen showroom has been revamped to include the manufacturer’s latest corporate branding and design. In addition, a smart new Peugeot and Citroen service reception has been installed within the refurbished building.

It’s not only the sales areas that have been hugely improved. The aftersales department has also seen significant investment being placed into its facilities. Vehicle maintenance improvements see Portfield’s adoption of the latest workshop technology, including the most up-to-date digital technology.

The skilled technicians are embracing this digital technology and have access to their own tablets enabling them to perform vehicle electronic visual health checks quickly and efficiently. There’s a video system that allows the technicians to send video footage of any required work to customers before work proceeds on their vehicle.

Over in sales, there are new HD video cameras that provide members of the sales teams with the ability to record a personalised quick video which are forwarded to customers so that they can see new or used cars that they may be interested in.

There’s been a major investment in online presence too. An improved new website has now been launched and there’s improved Facebook and Twitter content with much more information on the many offers available online at www.portfield.co.uk.

In addition to all this, Portfield is now led by a new Managing Director, Perry Lee, who arrives bringing with him a wealth of automotive retailing experience, most of it at high levels of management. Perry knows the area very well and he’s fully aware of what’s required from today’s modern motor retailer.

Perry says: “It’s an exciting time for all the team here at Portfield. They’re really enjoying using our brand-new facilities as are our customers. As a company, Portfield understands the importance of developing the skills of both new and existing staff through full training. Whilst already good at what they do, each member of the team is positively embracing our new higher levels of customer service.”

He continues: “Our new dealership allows us to enhance our customer experience and this will be at the forefront of everything we do. We offer a fantastic line up of cars and vans from three of the most successful manufacturers in the UK. Our knowledge and expertise enable us to provide all possible dealer facilities to the highest standard, including Motability, the servicing of cars and vans, fleet servicing and genuine manufacturer parts.” Perry adds: “We’d like to thank our customers for their patience while work was underway. We hope that with the transformation that has taken place, they will believe that the inconvenience has all been well worthwhile.

DS has now become its own prestige brand which is great for us and Chichester. The new DS3 arrives early in March so be sure to watch out for this stunning new model in our new DS display showroom soon.

There is still more to come to enhance the customer experience, including fantastic offers from all four brands along with manager’s stunning offers on carefully selected new vehicles, all with some huge savings to be had.”
