Portfield staff get together to donate to our local Chichester District Foodbank
1,948 people have been helped by Chichester District Foodbank during the last year. The latest figures show that over 1,000,000 people have received at least three days of emergency food from the charity’s foodbanks in the last twelve months, more than in any previous year. The data indicates that despite signs of economic recovery, the numbers of people turning to foodbanks continues to grow. Without the support of many volunteers, churches and businesses in the local community the project would not run so well. So far 3586 people (2282 adults, 1456 children) have received food parcels: 96 agencies issue food vouchers to those in need. 38.5 tonnes of food have been supplied to people who cannot afford to feed their families.
Portfield are extremely happy to donate to such a worthy cause, and plan to continue contributing thoughout the upcoming years.
