Mazda has produced the one-millionth MX-5. This landmark car was built at Ujina Plant No.1 in Hiroshima on the 22nd April.
The one millionth MX-5 rolled down the line 27 years after Mazda began manufacturing this iconic roadster, which still holds the Guinness World Record for the best-selling two-seater sports car of all time. The all-new Mazda MX-5 was also named overall Car of the Year in the 2016 UK Car of the Year Awards.
In addition to seeing this trio of special MX-5s, attendees at the Moving Motor Show will be able to experience the World Car of the Year winning all-new Mazda MX-5 on the legendary Goodwood hillclimb on Thursday 23rd June.

Our winners had a great day out starting with a breakfast hosted here at Portfield Mazda, followed by a full day of fun at the Festival of Speed.
Five of our winners also got the chance to get behind the wheel at the Moving Motor Show. Taking the classic MX-5 for a spin around the Hill Climb. They were each given an appointed time slot, and then ushered to a car, where a professional driver steered them out to the pre-start area, where they then pulled up and our winner took over at the start line, ready to take on the hill. This is the pefect way to get acquainted with the MX-5 and experience driving at the Moving Motor Show, which we’d highly recommend.
There are many attractions throughout the Festival of Speed, one of which was the Stunning new Mazda MX-5 RF with electrically-folding roof panel which took centre stage.
The RF is due on sale in the UK in 2017. Prices have yet to be confirmed, but we expect it to carry a premium of around £2,500 over the regular roadster. The RF editions will be available with both the 1.5 and 2.0-litre engines, so prices should start from around £21,000.
There is also a Mazda stand at the Stableyard to the left of the house, where our winners got to see how the MX-5 is inspiring art and music.
