Captain Hicko’s Drive-In said
"It was the best golfing day of the year so far and the assembled players in the 19th were a truly happy group, uplifted with a celebratory drink for James’ Ace on the 5th, who all remained to applaud the prize winners.
I tried to increase the Charity Fund with a system of fines but most managed to miss the appointed hazards but found many more opportunities for dropping shots due to the gusting wind, bitter cold at first, plus a plethora of unforced errors. Even so the day raised £400 for the Lifeboats which will be added to £180 profit from the Valentine Dance so many thanks to all of you for bringing jollification to the Club as the day lengthens, the course dries and the bar takings decrease as we will all be out there practising and honing our game to win the many prize events which include Senior Supper, Stableford, 4BBB,
The Fletcher Trophy, Easter Medal and Bank Holiday mixed event which are all in March as well as the many Ladies competitions. You can’t win unless you’re in, so step up to the plate and prepare to recall your exploits in the 19th.
Again my thanks to you all for making My Drive-In competition a great success and look forward to seeing you on future competition days and out on the course."
