Arun District Indoor Bowling Club was born out of the ashes of the old
Southdean Club in 1983. Arun quickly built a reputation as a well
organised Club and soon began to obtain favourable results in County,
National and other prestigious competitions.
During recent years the Club premises have undergone a phased refurbishment programme which has transformed the Club from it's former rather bleak looking interior into the comfortable, well lit, air conditioned building that we now enjoy.
Arun has an excellent 6 rink Greengauge bowling green 36 metres long. The Club colours generally are blue and gold with the Ladies Section favouring mauve.
The club is also home to the Beavers, a group ofpartially sighted people, who come twice a week. Arun make two rinks available, free of charge, which in total gives them four hours of bowling, with bodied members on hand to assist if required. They meet their friends and can avail themselves of the bar and catering. They also have people that live on their own or have recently become a Widow or Widower, that can come to the club to play or watch bowls or talk to their friends.
Our sponsorship money helps keep the club in tip-top condition for all to enjoy.
